Common questions

I opened Pocket Poker but nothing appeared.
Pocket Poker lives in your menu bar, not the Dock. Look for the poker-chip icon near the clock at the top of your screen and click it. On a MacBook with a notch, a crowded menu bar can hide icons behind the notch, so try quitting another menu bar app to make room.
Where are Settings, and how do I quit?
Right-click the poker-chip icon in the menu bar for Settings and Quit.
Is there real money involved?
No. Pocket Poker is play money only: chips have no cash value and can't be bought, sold or redeemed. There are no purchases, accounts or ads.
I ran out of chips.
If your bankroll is below 2,000 chips, the first launch of each day tops it back up to 2,000. You can also reset your bankroll in Settings (right-click the chip); that ends any game in progress.
Can I open it with a keyboard shortcut?
Yes. Turn on the global shortcut in Settings (right-click the chip). It's off until you turn it on, starts as ⌘⇧P, and you can record a different one.
The popover closed right after I started a game.
This is a known, rare issue. Click the chip icon again: the table pauses whenever the popover closes, so your game is right where you left it.
How do I update?
If you installed Pocket Poker from the Mac App Store, updates arrive through the App Store. If you downloaded it from this site, download the latest version from the Pocket Poker page and replace the copy in your Applications folder. Your bankroll and saved game are kept.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple Silicon running macOS 26 or later.
